Beacon Lighting sees bright year amid renovation boom

Beacon Lighting shares rose as much as 7.6 per cent on Thursday after the specialty lighting retailer upgraded full-year profit forecasts amid a COVID-19-inspired boom in home renovations.

Beacon chief executive Glen Robinson expects net profit for the 12 months ending June to reach between $35.5 million and $37.5 million, compared with underlying profit (excluding property gains) of $20.4 million in 2020.
