Rain shrinks ERA's Ranger production

Energy Resources Australia has declared force majeure on its uranium sales contracts and advised that production will be affected into the second half of the year as a result of heavy rain at its Ranger mine in the Northern Territory.

First-quarter production is forecast to be reduced by 280 to 418 tonnes. An ERA spokeswoman said that by processing stockpiled material the company hoped second-quarter production would not be affected.
