Programmed Maintenance Services plans to expand its health and education businesses after shareholders overwhelmingly approved its $778 million sale to Japan's Persol group.

Some 98.5 per cent of votes cast were in favour of the takeover, and the Perth-based staffing and services group will be delisted from the Australian Securities Exchange on Wednesday if it receives Federal Court approval for its scheme of arrangement.
