The number of lawyers grew 4.9 per cent last year, raising alarm bells there are too many to fill available jobs in the legal sector.
Figures from the NSW Law Society's latest profile of solicitors in 2015 and practising certificate survey of 2015-16 also showed that 14,230 – or 49.2 per cent – of the 28,935 solicitors in NSW were female compared to 14,705 or 50.8 per cent male.
