Judges tell Canberra how to catch federal 'Obeids'
A committee of prominent former judges has released detailed policy papers to support their blueprint for a federal anti-corruption commission, in a bid to both persuade the Turnbull government to introduce an agency and dissuade it from copying the Victorian model.
Victoria's independent broad-based anti-corruption commission (IBAC) has attracted positive noises from otherwise hesitant Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, but the papers reveal IBAC has conducted one-third of the investigations of equivalent bodies in rival states and limitations on its powers stymie efforts.
