The proposed rules to rein in rogue tax agents look set to become law after independent ACT senator David Pocock decided not to proceed with a disallowance motion in the Senate.
A coalition of 10 accounting and tax professional bodies had been lobbying to change a key aspect of the amendments that would oblige their members to dob in misbehaving clients under certain circumstances.
