Law Council 'very troubled' by errant circuit court judge
Australia's peak body for the legal profession said on Tuesday it was "very troubled" by a series of decisions by Federal Circuit Court judge Salvatore Vasta, adding that it underlined the need for a federal judicial commission.
The president of the Law Council of Australia, Arthur Moses, SC, said the absence of a body to handle complaints against federal judicial officers was "unacceptable in an age of transparency and accountability".
