Fresh from the NSW Bar practice course, trainee barristers shuffled their papers and settled into chambers for the first time this week.
Traditionally the domain of precocious lawyers with university medals, top-tier clerkships and Oxbridge degrees, the readers’ backgrounds at Sydney’s top commercial chambers are gradually changing, even if legal industry connections and high-profile associateships still smooth the path.
