Consultants slam brakes on hiring in the UK
London | Job vacancies at UK consultancies plummeted by more than 60 per cent last year amid weak economic growth, a lack of deals in the City of London and the prospect of a general election.
The big four accounting firms – Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC – posted just 2767 consulting jobs in 2023, down 60 per cent on the previous year, according to data from labour market analytics firm Vacancysoft. In 2021, the number of job postings by the big four exceeded 10,000.
