Accenture denied suppression order amid open justice debate
The Federal Court has rejected an attempt by Accenture to suppress details of a claim against it by a former employee, as judges push back against large firms trying to cloak embarrassing litigation in broad secrecy orders.
The ruling follows Justice Michael Lee’s rejection of a suppression application by Super Retail Group last month and a speech on Sunday in which he called on courts to stamp out “vestiges of a culture of secrecy” and promote principles of open justice.
