A David and Goliath battle is brewing in the bottled water market, where a tiny Perth-based company is taking on Australia's largest beverage group for the assets of troubled water company Palm Springs.

The Refresh Group, which has a market capitalisation of $9 million and earned just $52,500 in 2005, is preparing to trump Coca-Cola Amatil, which has a market capitalisation of $5 billion and earnings of $570 million, for control of Palm Springs' bottled water distribution and filtration business.
