Work safety authorities probe fires and crashes on MinRes road

Work safety authorities are investigating a series of fires and crashes of road trains on a private road crucial to the finances of heavily indebted iron ore and lithium miner Mineral Resources.

Western Australia’s Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety said it was probing four fires on road trains and six incidents of overturning trucks or trailers on the 147-kilometre haul road linking MinRes’ new West Pilbara iron ore export hub this year.
