US Supreme Court may consider appeal against Rio-BHP copper mine

Washington | Rio Tinto and BHP’s giant Resolution copper mine in the election battleground state of Arizona is heading to the US Supreme Court after a religious freedom group representing Native Americans lodged a challenge to the miners’ lease.
The mine, in which the Australian companies have already invested more than $US2 billion ($2.7 billion), would provide America with up to 25 per cent of its copper needs.
