China's seventh largest steel producer, Shandong Iron & Steel, is among five companies that have signed a deal in Adelaide to breathe life into a $4 billion iron ore project.

Shandong Iron & Steel on Tuesday night signed an agreement with ASX-listed Iron Road, along with four other Chinese steel companies that want to remain anonymous.
