Rio Tinto curbs Jacques’ bonus over culture
Rio Tinto will curb the deferred bonuses flowing to former chief executive Jean-Sebastien Jacques and the bonuses of current executives after a bombshell report found the company’s culture was plagued by bullying, harassment and racism.
The revelation came as incoming Rio chairman Dominic Barton said he “fully supported” new chief executive Jakob Stausholm and was looking forward to “working closely” with him, pouring cold water on reports that Mr Barton could remove Mr Stausholm as one of his first acts.
