A big setback for Gina Rinehart’s coal mining ambitions in Canada has sent shockwaves through ASX-listed companies with projects nearby.
Australia’s richest person faces an uphill battle to get a proposed $C800 million ($860 million) project in Alberta off the ground after an independent report ordered by the Canadian government found the proposed mine was not in the public interest.
