Brisbane Olympic Games chairman Andrew Liveris’ $375 million push into industrial salt production has elicited support from South Sydney Rabbitohs chairman Nick Pappas and some of Australia’s richest families.

Mr Liveris’ privately held company Leichhardt Industrials Group took possession of Rio Tinto’s Lake MacLeod salt asset in Western Australia on December 2, and the Saudi Aramco director has convinced other high-profile backers to co-invest.
