BHP was racing to fix the power line that connects the Olympic Dam mine to the South Australian power grid on Tuesday, after a fault caused the remote region to lose power on Tuesday.
The extent of disruption to Olympic Dam was unclear on Tuesday afternoon, but residents in the neighbouring town of Roxby Downs, which shares the same power source, confirmed they had been without power since about 9am.
