Perseus boss says gloves are off in $270m gold takeover battle

Gold miner Perseus is a big step closer to landing a knockout blow in the takeover battle for ASX-listed Tanzanian explorer OreCorp after winning over the board and major shareholders Tim Goyder and Nick Giorgetta.

Perseus lifted its all-cash offer to $270 million, or 57.5¢ a share, on Wednesday, in the latest twist in a takeover tussle with Canadian company Silvercorp Metals.
