Noodle maker Salim Group makes an unlikely entry into Australian coal

Investor appetite for the next generation of Australian thermal coal mines will be tested in coming months, as two mine developers begin discussions with potential partners.
The Mt Pleasant mine in the Hunter Valley is now more than 40 per cent built, and the little-known developer Mach Energy has opened discussions with investors interested in taking a stake on its register.
