The new chairman of OZ Minerals, Rebecca McGrath, says Australia is acting late on solving its energy security challenges, and this has led to responses that are "too political".

The former chief financial officer of BP's Australian and New Zealand assets will in May replace Neil Hamilton at the top of the Adelaide-based company, which is soon expected to approve development of Australia's next copper mine in the South Australian outback.
