Mt Gibson sells unwanted iron ore assets, pursues new opportunities
Iron ore producer Mt Gibson will look to acquire more assets after selling mothballed mines and port and logistics interests in Western Australia’s Mid West.
Junior rival Fenix Resources has boosted its port and logistics footprint in the region and at Geraldton Port through a $25 million deal with Mt Gibson. Fenix will take control of Mt Gibson’s unloved Shine iron ore mine and assets at Extension Hill as well as two storage sheds at Geraldton Port and two rail sidings.
