Tesla deal sends lithium minnow up 90 per cent

Small-cap lithium miner Piedmont Lithium surged as much as 90 per cent after confirmation of a deal to supply Tesla with lithium ore for five years.

Piedmont had briefly revealed the deal on its own website last week but quickly withdrew the announcement when the stock exchange declined to post it while it tested its veracity.
