NSW coal junior NuCoal will continue to explore its 500 million-tonne Doyles Creek coal project in the Hunter Valley despite serious concerns over the awarding of the licence by former NSW mineral resources minister Ian Macdonald .
The NSW government referred the awarding of the Doyles Creek licence to the Independent Commission Against Corruption last month after an independent investigation it commissioned found that there had been “a circumstantial case of wrongdoing and a breach of public trust".
