West Australian Premier Mark McGowan says his government is committed to strengthening its relationship with China as he prepares to meet dozens of state-owned entities with investments in the resources sector and other key industries.

Mr McGowan will meet representatives from up to 30 state-owned entities and private Chinese investors at Crown Resorts in Perth on Wednesday amid Australia’s move to align itself more closely with Japan at a time of rising tension in the Indo-Pacific.
