Global Lithium Resources has lost its battle against a group of shareholders with alleged Chinese interests, after appeals to government and the courts failed to back the critical minerals producer’s claims of covert foreign influence.

A dramatic turn of events on Thursday saw chairman Ron Mitchell and non-executive director Matthew Allen abandon their bids for re-election before the delayed annual shareholder meeting, leaving only Chinese-born candidates to fill the three director roles.
