Fire halts production at big Australian lithium mine
One of the world’s biggest lithium mines has been unable to process ore for the past four days after a fire at an Australian processing plant run by billionaire Chris Ellison’s Mineral Resources.
The fire began on November 24 at the Wodgina mine in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Wodgina ranks as the world’s third-largest hard rock lithium mine.
