EnergyAustralia forges ahead with $400m NSW gas plant
EnergyAustralia is going full steam ahead on plans for a new $400 million gas power plant at its Tallawarra site in NSW, but is warning the investment case would collapse if Canberra steps in to force AGL Energy's ageing Liddell plant to stay open or if a new coal plant is built.
The location near Wollongong has been selected ahead of Marulan as the primary focus for EA's planned expansion in gas power generation, with a final investment decision targeted for late 2018 or early 2019, EA's head of energy Mark Collette revealed in an exclusive interview.
