Australia’s gold sector will be home to two larger players in a couple of weeks, when Avoca Resources formally completes its merger with Canadian-listed Anatolia Minerals and Kingsgate Consolidated wraps up its purchase of Perth’s Dominion Mining .
There seems little chance of consolidation in the gold industry ending there, however, and Australia’s well-stocked ranks of West African gold operations is shaping up as the most likely epicentre of activity.
