Coal loader delay to hit miners
Mining expansion projects are likely to face a bottleneck at the NSW port of Newcastle as a result of the delayed start-up of planned coal loader terminal.
In a blow to NSW coalmining hopefuls, Port Waratah Coal Services has advised industry participants that the development of the T4 terminal at Newcastle is running about a year behind expectations.
The delayed opening of the fourth coal loader at the port to 2016 could affect the growth plans of several companies, including Aston Resources , Whitehaven Coal , Shenhua International , Nucoal Resources , White Energy and Coalworks , unless they can find port capacity elsewhere.
