The Chinese company that pioneered lithium processing in Australia says it deserves access to the billions of dollars in tax incentives put up by the Albanese government to boost the critical minerals sector.

Tianqi Lithium said it had never pushed for incentives but now that they were on the table, it wanted a “fair go”, with its call backed by mining billionaire Andrew Forrest.
