BHP grooming ‘internal candidates’ for chairman, CEO succession

BHP chairman Ken MacKenzie is grooming “internal candidates” to replace himself and chief executive Mike Henry, as fresh signals emerged that he would consider handing over chairmanship of the mining giant in 2025.

Mr MacKenzie was re-elected to the BHP board for a ninth year on Wednesday, taking him to the informal time limit imposed on directorships at the company.
