BHP breaks iron ore export record, promises copper lift

BHP sold record volumes of Australian iron ore over the past year, but volume growth in the year ahead is more likely to come from its copper division.
Copper production was 9 per cent higher over the past year thanks to the OZ Minerals acquisition, and was forecast on Wednesday to rise by as much as 10 per cent in the year ahead as Chile’s Escondida mine moves into higher grade material.
