Indigenous leader and former West Australian treasurer Ben Wyatt will join the board of Rio Tinto as the mining giant continues its leadership shake-up in the wake of the Juukan Gorge disaster.

Mr Wyatt, touted as a future WA premier before quitting politics in March, will become Rio’s first Aboriginal director.
