Bellevue aims for gold with ‘green premium’

Gold mining aspirant Bellevue has vowed to be carbon-neutral by 2026 in the belief that some customers will be willing to pay a “green premium” for bullion and jewellery made with net zero emissions.

The vow to pursue a green premium could have a domino effect on the rest of the Australian gold industry and comes just two months after one of the sector’s most successful identities, former Northern Star chairman Bill Beament, declared he was switching to copper because gold was “not green”.
