Australia’s best lithium mine to taper production in boost for rivals
The country’s biggest and most lucrative lithium mine, Greenbushes, will reduce production to match lower demand, in a potential boost for less competitive operations trying to survive an industry downturn.
IGO Limited confirmed on Monday that production at the Greenbushes mine in Western Australia was likely to be “marginally reduced” in the next five months because the mine owners had ordered less volume than previously expected.
