Allkem posts record profit ahead of lithium mega-merger vote

Lithium producer Allkem is determined to build on its presence in Australia either through acquisitions or exploration as shareholders prepare to vote on a merger with downstream processing specialist Livent later this year.

Allkem chief executive Martin Perez de Solay said having production assets in Australia, South America and North America was at the core of a strategy to create the world’s No.3 lithium player through the deal with New York-listed Livent.
