A Walkley Award is a big moment for any journalist and their masthead. Four in one night is a win for the ages, even amid the excessive multiplication of categories awards.
For uncovering the PwC scandal, The Australian Financial Review‘s Neil Chenoweth and Edmund Tadros won the Walkley Awards for Business Journalism, for Investigative Journalism, and for Coverage of a Major News Event or Issue – which was shared with Chanticleer James Thomson, former Rear Window editor Joe Aston and the Financial Review’s podcast team. Then the duo took the 2023 Gold Walkley.
