Kerry Stokes has installed James Warburton as chief executive of Seven West Media to lead a "change in direction", help find new revenue streams and reduce its reliance on the under-pressure free-to-air advertising market.

Mr Warburton spent eight years in a number of senior roles at Seven, including chief digital and sales officer, before leaving in 2011 to become chief executive of Network Ten.
