Legislation to make Facebook and Google pay for journalism on their platforms is likely to be sent to a Senate committee after it is introduced by the government next week, meaning the proposal will have to wait until at least February to become law.
Sources told The Australian Financial Review the revised code of conduct legislation would go through the Coalition party room on Tuesday.
