Australian record sales, led by popular artists such as Amy Shark, Dean Lewis, Vance Joy, and Gang of Youths, surged to more than half a billion dollars in 2018.
Australian Recording Industry Association wholesale revenue jumped 12.3 per cent in 2018 to $526.1 million, up from $468.7 million in 2017. Income from streaming services surged to a record 71.4 per cent of total revenues to $375.8 million, a more-than-40 per cent jump year on year and more than doubling over the past two years.
