News Corp’s three big decisions going into Christmas
Robert Thomson, the Australian-born, New York-based chief executive of News Corp, will be in Sydney this week facing pivotal decisions about the editorial leadership at the global media company’s flagship national masthead The Australian.
The publication faces a fork in the road after editor in chief Chris Dore suddenly exited over events which remain under a cloud. Senior sources within the local arm of the media empire say there remains one frontrunner to replace Mr Dore, with other names being discussed among staff as internal longshots for the position.
