Macquarie Media chief executive Adam Lang will depart the radio broadcaster ahead of Nine taking full control of the business by the end of the year.

The announcement ends months of speculation about Mr Lang's future after Nine made a move on the 45.5 per cent of Macquarie it didn't already own in August.
