After the big players closed magazines, niche and independent publishers are resurrecting titles, banking on readers’ desire for quality and a unique perspective.
The May 2020 issue of ‘Harper’s Bazaar’, the last before Bauer closed it down. The title will be brought back to life in September by niche publishers Switzer.
Anna Wintour once compared putting a magazine together to organising a fabulous dinner party: gather the best guests, ask them to wear their Sunday best, seat them properly and offer them a feast for the senses.
But what happens when the table is empty and all the guests have pushed their chairs back, grabbed their coats and headed for the party down the road?
