Fairfax digital drive remains on track

Fairfax Media chief Greg Hywood says the company remains committed to transforming into a digital media business despite offloading its 51 per cent stake in Trade Me, saying it would sell assets when appropriate.

Fairfax Media chief Greg Hywood says the company remains committed to transforming into a digital media business despite offloading its 51 per cent stake in Trade Me , saying it would sell assets when appropriate.

“We’re a business that’s in the transition from print to digital across the board. And because you move out of one digital business doesn’t mean that the strategy is not intact," Mr Hywood said. “Since when are you supposed to hold assets forever? There are some assets you will trade."
