ACCC accuses Facebook of deceptive conduct

Facebook is facing allegations it misled consumers who were using one if its privacy-focused apps and instead tracked and recorded troves of user data for its own commercial purposes.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission lodged proceedings in the Federal Court on Wednesday, alleging false, misleading and deceptive conduct over the promotion of its Onavo Protect mobile app to consumers.
