When IFM Investors global co-head of listed equities Neil Carter resigned from his position in June 2020 after more than eight years with one of Australia’s largest institutional investors, the well-known Sydney stockpicker said he would “take a short break then it will be time for something new”.

Carter, a former director at Macquarie Group, was right in one respect: it was a short break.
