Billionaire Kerry Stokes says Australia’s COVID-19 window is closing. If the country can’t emerge from lockdown by Christmas, the widely predicted post-pandemic boom could be lost and the economy may start to go backwards.

“To my mind, we actually need to be back before the end of this year,” Stokes tells AFR Weekend in a wide-ranging interview just days after he retired as executive chairman of Seven Group.
