Orora lifts prices 13 times in 18 months as US inflation soars
Cardboard box, bottles and can maker Orora has put up its prices 13 times in 18 months in North America in an effort to claw back a sharp rise in the cost of paper and other inputs, while in Australia it is passing the soaring cost of aluminium used to make cans to customers.
Chief executive Brian Lowe said on Wednesday that almost all of the 12.6 per cent rise in revenue to $1.55 billion for the December half in Orora’s large North American business stemmed from price rises to recover cost inputs, with minimal organic growth.
