InfraBuild CEO steels nervous Gupta suppliers

The boss of construction steel maker InfraBuild, the jewel in Sanjeev Gupta’s beleaguered GFG Alliance, admits suppliers have become nervous amid the turmoil caused by the collapse of GFG’s major lender Greensill Capital, but insists the business can come through the “storm” surrounding its major shareholder.

In his first interview, InfraBuild chief executive Dak Patel emphasised InfraBuild has no loans from Greensill, which collapsed last week after its backers became concerned with its $5.4 billion exposure to Mr Gupta’s empire. GFG is now scrambling to secure new funding.
